This essay aims to reconsider the logic and nature of Japanese historical revisionism, with reference to similar instances in Germany. Attention is paid to the written texts and statements of the Study Group for a Liberal View of History, with particular emphasis on the manga of Kobayashi Yoshinori. This analysis of historical revisionism remains grounded in the many empirical studies on this phenomenon, but it seeks to supplement such research by focusing on the logical inconsistencies and gaps of this discourse.
